Ingredient Notes

Silver rum helps give these mojitos a smooth, clean finish. Scroll to the recipe card at the bottom of the post for exact amounts.

  • Strawberries Fresh strawberries are best. Frozen ones works too if they’re thawed and well drained.
  • Mint Basil is a good swap. Avoid dried mint because it doesn’t muddle well.
  • Agave nectar – You can also use raw honey, maple syrup, or simple syrup.
  • Lime juice Feel free to use lemon juice.
  • Bacardi – Use their silver rum. Aged rum works too but it’ll add a sweeter, smokier flavor.
  • Seltzer water – Club soda is fine too.

Can I Use Different Kinds of Berries?

Of course! You can use raspberries, blueberries, or blackberries. Berry mixes are great for this as well.

Tips for the Best Mojitos

Add sweet peaches, spicy jalapeños, a tangy Tajin rim, or turn this strawberry mojito recipe into frozen cocktails.

  • Turn it into a mocktail. Skip the rum and swap it for cranberry or grape juice for an alcohol-free drink.
  • Add a rim. Rub a lime wedge along the rim of your glasses. Dip them into salt or Tajin chili powder for a savory touch.
  • Prep ahead. Make this recipe as usual but without the seltzer water. Prep it up to 3 days in advance. Add the water right before serving.
  • Make it fruitier. Add 1/4 cup diced peaches, mango, or pineapple for an extra fruity cocktail.
  • Add heat. Grab 1-2 thin slices of fresh jalapeños or serranos and muddle them with the rest of the ingredients for a bit of heat.
  • Make it a frozen mojito. Blend all of the ingredients (except the rum and seltzer) with 1/4-1/2 cup crushed ice. Add the alcohol and water at the end.
