Best Fall Diffuser Blends
Apple Pie, Autumn Leaves, Pumpkin Spice and everything nice is in the air right now.
I love a good smelling house, don’t you? When fall and the holidays hit I try to do anything I can do to make my house smell like pie, a walk through the woods or snickerdoodle cookies. haha. Those smells bring up joy, happiness, memories and all the feels. I use to use candles but now I’m hooked on diffusing essential oils and customizing those to what I feel for that day. Plus, they don’t give me the headaches that the candles do!
So today you’re getting my favorite 7 Fall Diffuser Blends that will keep your home smelling warm and cozy all season long. Don’t worry if you’re in need of a diffuser I’ve got your back. Here are my two favorite diffusers – RenWer Essential Oil Diffuser (it’s wood laminate and looks like a raindrop) and the Asakuki Essential Oil Diffuser (modern looking and has a timer)
And if you decide to become a monthly member at Young Living like me then you’ll get a FREE diffuser in your starter kit! You’re welcome!
Are candles bad for you?
Most candles typically release volatile organic compounds from the scent in candles these can include formaldehyde, petroleum distillates, limonene, alcohol and esters. So what’s the big deal? These harmful chemicals can cause health problems ranging from headaches, dizziness and allergy symptoms to asthma attacks and respiratory tract infections.
What essential oils smell like fall?
Some of my favorite essential oils that summon in the fall season are: Cinnamon bark, Clove, Nutmeg, Citrus fresh, Orange, Frankincense, Vetiver, Cedarwood and Northern Lights Black Spruce! Add a few drops of each to your essential oil diffuser and make the whole house smell like fall! Or apply a few drops topically to your temples or neck to summon the season.
How do you make fall scents with oils?
Making diffuser blends is definitely an art. You have to mess around with the ratios of each oil as well as the flavors you like all while not overwhelming your sinuses. It’s a balancing act for sure. I’ve found that if I add in citrus oils first then I can base everything else around those oils. Spicy oils tend to irritate your sinuses so be careful how much you use. Otherwise have fun! Here’s some guidelines on which oils are best for making fall scents. I have them broken down into Spicy, Earthy, Citrusy and Woodsy. Enjoy!
- Citrusy: Citrus Fresh, Bergamot, Grapefruit, Lemon, Lime, Orange, Tangerine, Eucalyptus Globulus, Stress Away, Ylang Ylang
- Earthy: Fennel seed, Frankincense, Ginger, Myrrh, Patchouli, Vetiver,
- Spicy: Anise seed, Black Pepper, Cardamom, Cassia, Cinnamon Bark,, Clove, Nutmeg, Sage
- Woodsy: Cedarwood, Northern Lights Black Spruce, Wintergreen, Cypress, Idaho Grand Fir, Copaiba, Juniper, Rosemary
How many drops of essential oil should I use in my diffuser?
These fall diffuser blends were created for a 200ml diffuser, but you can easily adjust the recipes to work for every size of diffuser.
- 150ml and smaller diffusers: cut the recipes in half so that you use 3-4 drops of essential oil
- 200ml-400ml diffusers: use the diffuser blends as is (5-8 drops of essential oil)
- 500ml and larger diffuser: double the diffuser recipes so that you use 10-15 drops of essential oil
Can you mix essential oils together in a diffuser?
Absolutely! That’s the best part of diffusing, you can make your own blends that fit the scents you like. When you’re using diffusers, just add the oils into the diffuser, dilute with water and simply turn the diffuser on – that’s it!
