This is another one of my favorite cocktails that is almost too easy to make. A French Martini is fruity, fun, and refreshing. Cocktail hour starts now!

Classic French Martini Cocktail
This is one of my favorite cocktails that is almost too easy to make. It’s also gorgeous with the pale pink colors and, of course, that distinct martini glass. You’ll feel like a million bucks when you take your first sip. It has a strong vodka flavor (that you’d expect from a martini), but also has the flavor of juicy raspberries and tart pineapple. You’re going to love it and your friends will, too!
The ingredient that’s the star of the show is Chambord Liqueur. Chambord is a deep-purple liqueur that’s made with raspberries, black raspberries, vanilla, citrus, honey, cognac, and other herbs and spices. Sounds incredible, right? Did I mention the bottle is also beautiful? It will look perfect at your at-home bar.
Why is it Called a French Martini?
The main reason that this cocktail is called a French Martini is because of the Chambord. Adding Chambrod adds a French element to this easy martini recipe setting it apart from the standard martini.
Chambord is a relatively new brand to the liquor scene, but the raspberry-flavored liqueur has been produced in France since the 1600s. While it may seem that this classic French martini has been around for a while, it actually was invented in the 1980s!
Recipe Ingredients
You don’t need many ingredients to make a French Martini. Plus, they are all pretty easy to keep on hand so you can make this cocktail anytime you want.
- Vodka – Find a good, smooth vodka for this recipe. Your local liquor store can suggest a bottle that suits your budget.
- Pineapple Juice – I love keeping little cans of pineapple juice around for mixing cocktails.
- Chambord – The belle of the ball, and the ingredient that creates that stunning pink hue.
- Fresh fruit garnish – raspberry or pineapple slice
How to Make a French Martini
You can skip bartending school for this one. You don’t need any special skills to make an easy French Martini. You’ll need a cocktail shaker though!
- Put all the ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice. You’ll need 4-5 ice cubes in there to make sure the drink gets nice and chilled.
- Give it a shake like all great bartenders do. Shake it until the cocktail shaker is frosty and cold to the touch.
- Strain and pour into your fancy martini glass.
- Garnish with fresh raspberry or pineapple slices.
Tips for Success
There are a few helpful tips to follow now that you’re a martini master.
- Don’t forget the ice! This is very important. This cocktail tastes best when it’s served extremely cold.
- Shaken not stirred. The never-ending debate continues, but with this recipe, I highly recommend shaking it so that the flavors develop and it gets nice and cold.
- Try a flavored vodka. If you’re feeling adventurous, you can try one of the many flavors of vodkas out there. Vanilla vodka is one you could experiment with.
What to Serve with a Martini
You’ll want a sophisticated snack to pair with your French Martini. Here are some of my favorites that pair well with this fruit-forward cocktail.
- Serve with Light and Fruity Salads. The perfect summer evening would be enjoying a French Martini with one of my fruit-focused salads like this Prosciutto and Melon Salad or Strawberry Spinach Salad.
- Cheese doesn’t always have to pair with wine. I think a good vodka cocktail pairs perfectly with charcuterie boards. Add your extra raspberries to the board!
- Fancy apps that are quick. When you’re short on time, but you want to make an upscale snack, check out these easy apps that only take 15 minutes!
