Sweet & Spicy BBQ Chicken Wings
It’s that time of year ya’ll. This week we have all the fantasy football draft parties and next weekend is opening weekend! I know it’s probably funny/weird that I look forward to this time of year. But I think it’s somewhat nostalgic to me. I grew up watching the Packers. Every Sunday afternoon we’d rush back from church, change into our comfy clothes, make ham sandwiches and watch football all day. I would cuddle with my dad and watch my mom yell at the tv and tell the refs they had it all wrong.
It’s family time. I think that’s part of the reason I love this time of year. Well, that and typically the weather gets cooler (although it’s never guaranteed in Texas) AND the game day food is on point. You can’t go wrong with nachos, loaded sweet potatoes fries or chicken wings.
I don’t mean to brag, but I make the BEST chicken wings around. Like, for real.
Everyone that comes over to house for game day raves about the texture of my wings, because they are crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Plus all of my sauces are the bomb and always take the wings over the top! Chicken Wings are some of the TOP searched recipes on my site, specifically my Garlic Parmesan Wings!
So, I guess what I’m saying is. If you’re going to make your own wings you NEED to use my recipe! It’s killer!
How do you clean Chicken Wings?
I highly recommend buying fresh chicken wings over frozen. They don’t tend to dry out. The best way to clean fresh chicken wings is to rinse them off with water once you remove them from the package and pat them dry with a paper towel. Drying them off helps ensure that anything you put on them will stick to the skin.

The BBQ Sauce for these Sweet & Spicy BBQ Chicken Wings is homemade! I used Stubbs BBQ Sauce as my base and then added in a little honey for sweetness, smoked paprika for smokiness and sriracha for some heat. After all these are Sweet & SPICY wings. Plus, I’m of the opinion that Sriracha makes all things better. You’re absolutely going to love it.
