Description
Mediterranean 7 Layer Dip – colorful veggies on top of creamy hummus and fluffy whipped feta cheese. Pair it with crunchy pita chips and treat yourself to an ultra-refreshing appetizer!
Ingredients
For the Whipped Feta
- 4 oz. cream cheese
- 1/4 cup feta cheese
- 1 garlic clove
- 1/2 teaspoon oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon basil
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
For the 7 Layer Dip
- 10 oz. original hummus
- 1 cup diced cucumbers
- 1/2 cup diced tomato
- 1/4 cup diced red onion
- 1/4 cup sliced kalamata olives
- 1/4 cup crumbled feta cheese
Instructions
- Make Whipped Feta: To a small food process add cream cheese, feta cheese, garlic clove, oregano, basil and lemon juice. Blend until smooth and garlic clove is minced.
- Assemble 7 Layer Dip: Using a large plate or an 8×8″ dish, evenly spread whipped feta on the bottom. Top with hummus, cucumber, tomato, red onion, kalamata olives and feta.
- Serve with Homemade Baked Pita Chips.
Notes
To Make a Day Ahead: Dice up the veggies and store them in an airtight container in the fridge. Prepare the whipped feta and the hummus, refrigerating each one in its own airtight container. Dab the veggies with a paper towel to remove excess moisture before you assemble the dip.
