“Fear be silent. God be praised. In Jesus name, let freedom reign.”
That phrase has been on repeat in my head the past couple of days. Sometimes you just need to remind yourself of truth. And that is truth!
I have always struggled with fear. Fear of being left. Fear of losing something or someone. Fear of failure. Fear of not being “liked.” The list goes on.
I think it shifts to different things depending on the season of life. But one thing that is true of fear is, it is crippling. Once you give fear a little room in your mind, it slowly starts to take over and cripples you in your thought process and decision making. I’ve been there before. It’s not a fun place to be. It’s hard to recognize truth from a lie because all you see is FEAR. That is the filter by which all things go through. But since I’ve been there before, and by God’s grace came out of it. I recognize when I start to go back to that place. Those slow subtle lies that get planted in your mind and are begging to take root.
“If this happens… what are you going to do?” FEAR.
“You can’t trust him. You’ll get hurt. Protect yourself.” FEAR
“Bad things happen all the time. Are you sure God can protect you? You need to protect yourself!” FEAR
“Something is going to happen to your child.” FEAR
The list goes on and on. Right now I feel like we are standing in the eye of a hurricane. There are seriously so many things going on around us. I feel like I pop through the water for a second to take a breathe and then get hammered by more waves. I can feel that fear creeping in and my desire to want to take “control” and not trust the Lord.
The most recent one is we just found out that we have to move. And be out of the house in about a month. Cason goes to Kingergarden next year and I need to figure out which school zone we’re gonna be in so I can register him. But then we also have to find a house, feel peace about it, pack, and then move… and do all that in the midst of all the travel and work chaos going on.
That’s just another thing to add to the list of crazy in our life.
I finally got to the point where I just sat down in our room and starting crying. I don’t want to make decisions out of fear or anxiety. I want to be steady. I want to have my eyes locked on Jesus, be overcome with peace, rest in His goodness and know that I can do anything with my eyes focused on Him. In Him there is peace, rest, joy, comfort and wisdom. So.
Fear be silent. God be praised. In Jesus name let freedom reign…. is where I’m shifting my focus today!
Easy Strawberry Jam Recipe
Alright ya’ll. I started with the “soul food” and now we’re moving on to the real food! This Chia Vanilla Strawberry Jam is the “JAM!” You see what I did there? It’s the jam. heheeheheheheheh
Ok. Moving on from corny jokes.
For realz, this strawberry jam rocks. It’s so easy to make with less than 10 ingredients. You just throw everything in and let it cook. This jam is naturally sweetened by the strawberries and a touch of honey, and thickened up by chia seeds, so no pectin here! The flavor is my favorite part though! You get tartness from the strawberries, and then a hint of vanilla and lemon. You’ll want to eat it with a spoon, it’s that good! (Cason and I totally did that after I shot these photos too!)
Bon Appetit ya’ll!

Could this be canned in a water bath or something for use all year?
I’m sure it could. I have just never canned before so I’m not sure.
